Sun island Resort – Guide and Tips Part 1
In August 2011, I had company holiday and wanted to somehow not stay at home, now I decided to fly with my friend to the Maldives. I was interested in the Maldives and Sun Island Iceland – focus 5 star hotel in the eye.
But now it was finally time for me to visit this beautiful island.
We flew away from my country. Our flight time was approximately 8 hours. We had a stopover in Sri Lanka and from there we flew another hour to Maldives.
So we had to go by boat to the island. After 2 hours we were finally on our island and our tired from the transport was immediately disappeared when we saw our paradise. So there we would spend 8 days.
In the hotel we went with fresh towels and a drink has been received. Registration at the reception took a bit, but then we went to eat the same lunch.
To the island
Sun Iceland has 420 rooms that are divided into bungalows. We had booked a deluxe room. There was still super deluxe water bungalows and suites. The island is 1.5 km long and 400 m wide. So one of the three largest islands of the Maldives. So no one here got island fever, which is why the island of Maldives for beginners is recommended.
The island is beautiful. All around secluded white beaches. Lonely because spread throughout the hotel guests on the island so beautiful that it feels to be alone on the island.
We have also gone around once, what I can only recommend. Thus we see every beautiful spot on the island. My tip: smear with plenty of sun cream!
We have used for almost half a day when we went again into the water and put them to the various support bars. It was a very nice walk.
The interior of the island is very beautiful and much more with flowering shrubs, lawns, palm trees. populated. I liked the best orchid garden. The orchids in coconut shells, they have attached to the palm trees. Since I am very happy to come by, because I am always delighted in the beautiful garden.
The island by bike to explore
After our bungalow quite far from the lobby, pool, main restaurant was located, we rented bikes out for the whole week.
The price was acceptable. You get this old wheels with little comfort.
Deluxe Room
The deluxe rooms are housed in a bungalow with a total of four habits. Our room has a bathroom with shower, hairdryer, telephone, TV, safe, air conditioning, minibar (including 1 bottle of 1.5 liters of water for free, all other drinks extra charge) and terrace. And from the terrace, you could enjoy a beautiful view of the bright blue sea with white beach.
The rooms were very nice and clean. The Roomboy was also two times daily to clean the room.
Super Deluxe and water bungalows
Apparently the Super Deluxe differs only by an outside shower as I know, a bathtub and a bidet.
The water bungalows seen from the outside already so out of a dream. For a honeymoon I would definitely take out a water bungalow. The water bungalows are lined up on a long bridge and at the end of the bridge is still a nice restaurant (not included in the AI). Furthermore, these bungalows for a staircase directly into the water beds and a sun terrace.
Breakfast
At breakfast we found everything our heart desires. There were also a variety of sandwiches, too many sweet rolls or croissants.
Sausage, cheese, fried eggs, scrambled eggs, omelets (content was possible to determine), English breakfast, jam, Nutella, honey and much more.
With coffee or tea is served to the table.
Lunch and dinner
It was a good variety of dishes. What I do, however, come off, was that there were hardly any fish, where it is but the there in abundance. But as I said, I’ve always found something. I had already seen better buffets in my life, but I was still happy.
I liked the best fresh fruit, cut open the cooks in front of you and what you could choose yourself.
Watermelon, cantaloupe, honeydew melon, papaya, mango, guava, pineapple, banana mini, Litschees and my favorite fruit was the dragon fruit, but it was not always. I ate mostly fruit in the holidays and today it still enthusiastic. That was simply awesome. The cakes looked very tasty indeed, I have not tasted but so very, but there were indeed my fruit Drinks were served to the table.
Table during meals
It was assigned to a holiday at the beginning of a table which for this period was always ours and we had a waiter who was responsible for this area. He was very nice and gave us many times before our drinks before we even set …: o)
Afternoon tea
From 16.00-18.00 clock coffee shop, there were tea and coffee. In addition there was always a delicious cake and mini sandwiches, which were so delicious that we had for dinner almost nothing more needed. So, the Tea Time I was never made.
